Each year, the Pennsylvania Delta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp)—the nation’s largest college Fraternity—recognizes three freshmen who embody the ideal of a balanced man. The Balanced Man Scholarship is awarded to male students who show academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to their health and wellbeing.
Winners will receive $1500, $1000, and $500. Candidates will be interviewed throughout the semester and scholarships will be awarded at a banquet in November, to which all applicants are invited.
The importance of developing a Sound Body and Sound Mind was recognized by the ancient Greeks and is among the values upon which our fraternity was founded. We believe that recognizing students who exhibit balance and all-around excellence is one way to promote this important ideal. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an incoming freshman male at the University of Pennsylvania
- Have a 3.2 GPA or above
There is no obligation to join or affiliate with SigEp when applying.
